Spring is officially here (has been unofficially for some time now) and while most people have been out enjoying the beautiful weather, I've been curled up on my couch reading The Walking Dead comics and watching college basketball.
Season 2 of The Walking Dead (TV show) just ended and season 3 doesn't start up until late October, so I decided to start reading the comics in hopes that they will tide me over until the fall.
The funny thing about me watching college basketball is that I never watch it during the regular season. I don't have a favorite team and could really care less about it, but for some reason, I get really into it when the NCAA tournament starts. I research all the teams, spend a good hour filling out my bracket, and watch (almost) every game like it's my job. My bracket is currently in 4th place out of 10 at work. I have Kentucky, Michigan State, Kansas, and Ohio State going to the Final Four and I have Kentucky winning it all. Go Wildcats!
Have any of you other Walking Dead TV show fans read the comics? What did you think of them? Who do you college basketball fans have winning the NCAA tournament?

Cute as usual! Do you have a link/name for the shoes?
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge zombie and graphic novel fan, read the first volume of Walking Dead before it was made into the tv show and reaaallly didn't care for it. That said, I love the show. I think the comics come off way more misogynistic than the show... The first volume ended with the showdown from last episode so I guess I'm caught up and can now be surprised and not expecting the twists! What do you think of the comics vs show?
That dress is just the perfect shape!! And I love that the yellow belt ties it all into the shows, you look as lovely as ever =)

You'll love the comics of the Walking Dead. I read a few of them and they are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I have so many things to say. First, I have that dress and it is fantastic. Second, the Walking Dead comics are great, but they differ pretty significantly from the show. Based on what's happening in the show right now, I don't know how they can get back on track with the comics, but I am still excited to see. Last, I am actually in first place in my office bracket. It's unbelievable! And I also have Kentucky winning it all.

I've thought about reading the comics, but I'm afraid of finding out too much! I know the show doesn't exactly follow the comics, but I love being totally surprised! I am curious about Mishone--I thought her appearance was such a cool comic book shot. Glad to hear of a fellow zombie nerd!
ReplyDeletei have kentucky and cincy in the final (my man went to uc for undergrad, so i gotta represent... even though he didn't even pick them to go that far, haha), with kentucky winning. unc and louisville round out my final four.
ReplyDeleteThey are the Flaxen Wedges :)
ReplyDeleteI'm just about done with book 1 and I really like it. It's fun to see how they made the show different from the comics. I do like the show more than the comics (right now) just because it's so much easier for me to connect with the characters when they're real people and not just drawings on a page. Plus, I love when I'm watching the show and my heart starts pounding because a zombie pops out of nowhere or someone unexpectedly dies. I don't get that with the book. Oh and of course the number one reason I like the show better is because Daryl is in it!
I'm at the end of book 1 right now and have really enjoyed it. Do you know if they're still making more comics?
ReplyDeleteGreat pick with Louisville. I can't believe Michigan State lost! They played terrible!
ReplyDeleteI was afraid of finding out too much too, but I think I'll still be surprised because I don't when/how things are going to happen or whether or not they'll stick to the comic or not.
ReplyDeleteI just read the comics and devoured them! They are a little more graphic (I think) than the show but still very, very good. It's amazing how a little bit of dialogue and some black and white pictures can convey so much. They were my first comics/graphic novels I've ever read (I'm a huge reader of just words-only-books-and as such sometimes forgot to look at the pictures so it took some getting used to) and I really enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteLove polka dots!!!! This dress fits you perfectly! Great photos
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable. Love that dress and your smile!
