With Christmas right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to come up with some Christmas-y themed questions to answer. Feel free to copy the questions and answer them yourselves or just pick a few to answer in the comments :)

What's your favorite Christmas cartoon?
Frosty the Snowman. The Grinch is a close second though.

What's your favorite Christmas movie?
My favorites are Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Jingle All the Way, Home Alone 2, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Love Actually.

What's your favorite Christmas song?
Love "O Holy Night". It's probably my favorite Christmas song out of all of them. I also like "Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney and "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" by N'Sync.

Where do you spend Christmas?
I always go back to my hometown to visit my family at Christmas. This year though I think I might be spending Christmas Day with my husband's family. He only lives a couple hours away from me, so I'll still be able to see my family on Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas.

Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
We open one present on Christmas Eve and then the rest of them on Christmas morning. We usually try to go around and have everyone open one present at a time, but that never ends up working. Us "kids" get impatient and we just start ripping boxes open!

Do you have stockings?
Stockings are a huge deal at my house. Everyone has one. Even the pets and spouses/significant others. They're usually just full of candy/small gifts/gift cards, but for some reason, it's almost more fun opening them than it is the presents.

Which reindeer is your favorite?
Dancer and Vixen are my favorites.

How are you at wrapping presents?
I'm decent, but definitely could never work at one of those stands in the mall where they wrap gifts for free. I usually try and get my mom to wrap all of my gifts because she's really good at it :)

Do you go out shopping the day after Christmas?
My family lives in a small town in the Midwest, so sadly, there's really no place to go shopping other than Target :/ I do usually go there though to get the good candy deals.

Do you buy a Christmas dress/outfit every year?
Growing up, I never wore skirts or dresses because I was a big tomboy. I would just wear my one pair of nice black pants with a nice top to church on Christmas Eve. I've actually never bought a Christmas dress/outfit for myself since I moved out on my own. Sadly, I never get to go to any fancy holiday parties. I could wear one to church on Christmas Eve, but I'm afraid to fly with my nicer clothes. Who knows where they'll end up!

Hot Chocolate, Apple Cider, or Egg Nog?
Hot chocolate. I've never tried Egg Nog, but really have no desire to.

Gingerbread man or frosted sugar cookie?
I like both, but I'd go for the frosted sugar cookie first just because I love all the fun shapes and the colorful icing.

Real tree or fake tree?
Growing up, we always had a fake tree because we had cats who would make a mess in the water and get pine needles everywhere. My husband and I have a small fake tree now and I'm guessing we'll probably always have a fake tree. They're not messy, cheaper in the long run, and I personally think they look better.

Put up your own lights or drive around and look at other people's lights?
Definitely drive around and look at other people's lights. That's probably one of my favorite things to do this time of year. I love seeing what people come up with and listening to Christmas music for hours.

Happy Holidays!

  2. Totally stealing this list of questions for my post tonight!
There are some big differences between US and UK Christmases, I think, the big one being that this is our 'Turkey Day' - we don't have it any other time of year. Christmas lights aren't really a thing over here, though it's starting to catch on. And our most famous Christmas tv/movie/thing is The Snowman, which I'll post in my blog. You have to see it, it's just lovely. Always cry like a big girl.
Real trees are a mess, but the smell can't be beat.
Love that belt! Also: are those reading glasses?! Cute!

  3. I love this idea! Here are my answers...

    What's your favorite Christmas cartoon?
I've never been a big cartoon girl so am I allowed to branch out a little and go for the Muppets Christmas Carol?

    What's your favorite Christmas movie?
Love Actually (with Miracle on 34th St a close second)

    What's your favorite Christmas song?
I share the love for "O Holy Night" and can't help but get my groove on to a bit of Mariah's "All I Want for Christmas"

    Where do you spend Christmas?
Either with my parents or the boy's parents. This year, it's off to Toronto to see my folks.

Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
First thing Christmas morning. As kids, we were each allowed to open one present before our parents got up (probably in a desperate bid from them for more sleep) but now we sit around with cups of coffee and enjoy a more laid back time.

    Do you have stockings?
You know, I used to but they seem to have gone missing in my move this year. I enjoy a stocking full of silly, little gifts!

    Which reindeer is your favorite?
I'm a Prancer kind of girl.

How are you at wrapping presents?
I love it! I seriously spend as long looking for the perfect wrapping as I spend looking for the actual presents!

Do you go out shopping the day after Christmas?
You bet - Boxing Day sales (as we Aussies call them) are the best!

Do you buy a Christmas dress/outfit every year?
I started this tradition a few years ago and I like having that one special dress for the season - especially as most of my party crowds don't overlap. This year I've got Anthro's Rodna Halter Dress.

Hot Chocolate, Apple Cider, or Egg Nog?
Can I say all three (though not together, obviously).

Gingerbread man or frosted sugar cookie?
    Frosted gingerbread men?

    Real tree or fake tree?
Fake - Australian real trees look so sad and lame, and now that I'm in Switzerland, they seem to cut their trees very strangely (i.e. flat on top!)

Put up your own lights or drive around and look at other people's lights?
Both - it makes me feel like part of the neighbourhood to have my own lights up but I love to see what others have done too.

    Happy holidays everyone!

Can't wait to read your answers! I think I've read the book "The Snowman" before. Does it have a snowman and a little boy flying around in the sky in it?

Nope, not reading glasses. They're my "nerd' glasses from Halloween :)

Cudos to you for answering all the questions!

Frosted gingerbread men...I like it :)

I used to love that Mariah Carey song, but now I'm sick of it because the radio stations play it all the time!

  10. Great list, and love the red and green fonts! so festive! I feel little bad though because just last night I completely bashed the Paul McCartney song on my blog :/ anyway, you're not miss I g much with the eggnog and the cat thing cracked me up because I have so many memories of my cats drinking the water, knocking ornaments and pine needles off the tree and eating my dad's beloved tinsel (back when tinsel was the thing). We only discovered that they had eaten the tinsel when... well, when it would get stuck coming out the other end... haha! Oh, memories :-)
