New Year's Resolutions

I usually don't make any New Year's resolutions because I can never seem to follow through with them, but this year, I have quite a lengthy list of goals that I would like to accomplish within the next year. I like calling them "goals" rather than "New Year's resolutions" because to me, "goals'" implies that I have the whole year to accomplish them. This way, I won't feel any pressure if I don't start following through with them right on January 1st or even within the month of January. I also like having lots of goals because I can put them all in a big list and get to check them off when I'm done...I love doing that :)

My goals for 2011:
  • Buy a new camera and learn more about all that is photography.
  • Take a photography class.
  • Do a better job at cleaning up after myself.
  • Keep a cleaner house.
  • Be more organized at work and at home.
  • Stop procrastinating.
  • Cook meals at least 3-4 times a week.
  • Read more books.
  • Work on my hoarding tendencies.
  • Clean out my closet...again (see previous bullet point).
  • Finally make an album of our wedding pictures.
  • Finally have my wedding dress cleaned.
  • Take more walks/run with my husband when the weather gets nicer.
  • Go to the gym with my husband when the weather is not so nice.
  • Be a better listener.
  • Spend more quality time with my husband at night during the week.
  • Call/email my parents more.
  • Save money.
  • Stick to a budget when it comes to clothing.
  • Only buy clothes that I absolutely love.
  • Stop the impulse buys.
  • Take more weekend trips.
  • Take a summer vacation.
  • Do a better job at sharing the DVR space (silly, but it's a problem for me).
  • Make better use of my Netflix subscription.
Those are my goals for 2011...what are you hoping to accomplish in 2011?

Have a happy and safe New Year and I'll see you in 2011!

  2. Ooh I love a good checklist, nothing more satisfying then seeing them all crossed off!

I echo the cleaner house bit - my husband keeps offering to pay for a cleaner as I just don't have time to keep our house as clean as I'd like, it drives me nuts but I can't bring myself to pay someone to dust and Hoover!

  3. Happy new year! good run-down of your NY resolutions. I guess one of mine would be to shop less on Anthro online but I guess that's not very realistic :-)

  4. I have never made a New Years resolution but this year I must. I must stop spending so much money on impulsive things and put money in the bank! I also want to learn to take better photographs, I just got a fancy Nikon on sale at Staples, you might wanna check them out. Happy New Year!
