Head on over to Little Girl Big Closet if you haven't already to check out her 12 Days of Christmas Blogger Bonanza. She chose 12 bloggers, including myself, to create vignettes based on the 12 days of Christmas and today is my day (4 calling birds) :)
When I first found out what my specific day was, I knew exactly what I wanted to do for it. I was either going to head over to the park and have my husband round up a bunch of birds around me (he LOVES feeing squirrels and when he does, tons of birds come join in on the fun too) or make my way over to the zoo to see what neat birds I could take pictures with. I thought they were pretty good ideas, but unfortunately, a few things got in the way of my vision :(
First, my car was in the shop all day last Saturday, then on Sunday, mother nature decided to play a mean trick on me and have it rain the entire day. Since my husband and I don't get home until after dark during the week, outdoor pictures were officially out. So I had to go with plan B, but the problem was, I didn't have a plan B!
Luckily, I remembered that I had seen a few birdhouses at my Anthropologie store a few weeks back along with several different bird ornaments, so I decided to drag my husband over there to see what we could come up with (I pretty much had to promise him the rights to our first born son's name to get him to go). Once we got there, we found the birdhouses, put 4 of the bird ornaments on them, and started taking pictures (Ever take pictures in a store before? Awkward!).
The original picture I sent Tara was nothing special (I was proud of my outfit though!), but it got the job done. As you can see on her blog today though, she really turned my picture into something amazing with her great photo editing skills! Thanks again Tara :)
I thought I'd include a few pictures of the outfit that I wore during my photo shoot so that you can see the entire look from head to toe. I really love the pop of color that the tights add to the look and of course, I love this dress! I plan on wearing this or something very similar to this out to dinner with my husband on New Year's Eve :)
Don't forget to check out the rest of the vignettes on Tara's blog throughout the week and have a great weekend!
