We Meet at Last

Hi bloggers! As you can see from my pictures, I couldn't even wait one whole day to wear my new Mullany Dress! That says something because as you know, new things usually sit in my closet for a few weeks before they get worn. I think that means I made a good choice :)

Oh and I didn't realize this before when I tried the dress on, but the belt that comes with it is HUGE on me, so I had to make my own hole in it with a knife. Looking back, I should have just taken the black belt off of my Chromatic Canvas Shirtdress, but oh well, it worked.

Dress: Anthropologie Mullany Dress
Cardigan: Anthropologie Remaining Lilies Cardigan
Shoes: Target

I also wanted to see if any of you other bloggers out there are doing or thinking about doing Kendi's 30 for 30 Fall Challenge? I really wanted to do the last one she did, but I was busy getting married and going on my honeymoon. Now that I can actually participate, I don't know if I can do it! Do I really want to limit myself to 30 pieces of clothing for the next month? Can I go 30 days without buying anything at the Tuesday Anthro sales (Does it count if I have my husband buy it and give it to me for Christmas?)? What do you guys think...should I do it?

  1. You should go for it! I'm trying it out and I'm a little nervous about limiting myself to only 30 items (and not being able to shop), but I think it will be fun!

  2. The dress looks great on you! I considered getting it once it hit sale, but I'm really trying to be good about saving. I probably should participate in Kendi's 30 for 30 challenge to save some money, but I don't think I have the willpower for it!

  3. That dress is stunning on you! Great purchases. I am the say way about wearing a lovely new item ASAP!

I hate those wimpy belts that come with some of those dresses.

  4. I LOVE the Mullany on you! I've always thought it was too fancy for daily wear, but on you it looks totally office appropriate!

As far as the 30x30 challenge, it's pretty easy, just boring! I did it last time, and I'm not doing it this time because I was so bored with not being able to wear the other clothes in my closet. Also, since I missed a whole month of summer last time, that was 30 days I couldn't wear the majority of my summer clothes, so I felt like I missed out on wearing a lot of things. The not shopping part isn't that bad - if I can do it, anyone can!

  6. You are super, super cute in this dress, and it's perfect that you already had the cardi to pair with it - LOVE! I'd probably attempt some modified version of the 30 for 30 - like 30 pieces PLUS any shoes I wanted.

  7. Gorgeous!
Do the challenge, but allow yourself to buy items you have been waiting to hit sale! That seems fair!

  8. Meg-I think I'm leaning towards doing it. I figure I should do it at least once. It's only 30 days and if I don't have fun, I don't ever have to do it again!

Kelly-I (and my wallet) really wish I could have gotten this dress after a second cut, but I'm about 99% positive it won't be around that long :/

Pamela-Yea you'd think that they could do a little better with the belt that's attached to a $258 dress!

Ashley-I thought it was going to be too fancy too, but once you put a cardigan on over it, it really doesn't feel much different than any other dress.

Jan-My plan was to find a different cardigan to wear with this dress, but why reinvent the wheel when they did such a great job styling it in the catalog?

A-Sounds like a plan to me! There's no way I could pass up the Peppered and Striped Skirt or the D'armee Dress if they went on sale during the 30 days. I'd have to quit the challenge!

  9. ADORE the Mullaney on you!! I too thought it was too fancy for daily wear but you make it look totally effortless!! As for the challenge I'm sure I would get bored with just 30 pieces but I'm seriously thinking of imposing a shopping ban EXCEPT for the peppered and striped skirt.. all these anthro sales have been way too tempting and bad for my budgeting :/

  11. awww, you look every inch gorgeous in the Mullany. Love how you paired it with the remaining lillies cardi. I seriously can't enough of this dress either. I have this same dress and wore it recently :-)
I don't think i'm restrained enough to do the 30 day challenge! plus, it's my bday soon, so def not a grand idea right now...

  12. That looks great on you. I have to wait a week for UPS to drag mine to me...I'm so impatient because I've never even tried it on!

  13. Three cheers for sale! You look as cute as a button in your new outfit, so pleased you decided to wait for sale and fate served up the dress so soon!

As for the 30 for 30, I'd love to see you try it. I encouraged Bonnie to do that same earlier this week. I'd love to try it myself but don't have a blog to chronicle it. Plus, if something you *have* to buy goes on sale during the 30 days maybe your husband can buy it for you for Christmas and then technically you didn't break the challenge... :)

  14. Such a cute dress!! Great outfit!
If you do the 30-for-30, I think it definitely is OK if your husband gets you what you want for Christmas during the 30 days :)

  15. That dress is amazing. So cute on you and what a great sweater to pair with the dress. I am a new folower and am loving your posts! I think it's OK to have your husband buy for you and give it as a Christmas, after all, you aren't the one *actually* making the purchase!!

  16. Glad you were able to get the dress, it looks awesome and with the sweater. I think you should do a *modified* version of the 30 by 30. Baby steps...

  17. I'm going for the 30 for 30, full force! I'm nervous, but definitely excited. I need to stop shopping! I think any number, whether it be 15, 20, or 30 should be fine :)
