Back From the Dead

Hi readers! I'm sorry I've been MIA for the last week, but I've been stuck in bed with strep throat and some other kind of cold that came after that :( I called in sick to work a few days, so I had no outfits to take pictures of and then the days I did go to work, I just came straight home, got in my pj's, and went to bed. Not a fun week at all, but I'm so glad to be back...I missed you guys!

Today was my first day out amongst the living since Thursday or Friday (all the days run together when you're sick), so I decided that I wanted to dress up and look cute :) I used two different looks I've been loving lately as my inspiration. The first look is one that I saw on a mannequin in my store a few months ago and the second is a look from the September issue of Vogue magazine (how great is her hair?). Here are pictures of both:

And here's my look:

Top: Anthropologie Ambling Twists Tank
Skirt: Anthropologie Mossy Atoms Skirt
Shoes: Seychelles Trip the Light Fantastic Heels
Earrings: Charlotte Russe (from Ashley Getting Dressed)

I hope that you all enjoy the rest of your weekend and I can't wait to get back into blogging this week!

  6. Glad you're feeling better. I missed your posts! I am so tempted to buy that skirt, but I keep hoping it might get a second cut at some point and I'll be able to find one. What are the chances? You look so great in it! Do you think it will transition to fall well?

  8. I saw that ad in Vogue too, and I loved it, so I love how you've managed to make an Anthro-friendly version!
Glad you're feeling better: I hope you were being waited on, hand and foot?!?

  9. What a brilliant recreation of that Vogue shot -- I saw it earlier this summer and was dreaming about it too, but I never even thought to try to recreate it with Anthro pieces! Glad you are back to posting and of course that you are over that nasty strep!

  10. Glad you're feeling better! I had to return that skirt because with the elastic waist, the XS was huge on me.

  14. Sara-I'm thinking this skirt will definitely get a second cut in the near future and I'm sure there will still be a few floating around in stores. Since I don't wear pants, I find ways to make all of my skirts/dresses transition to fall...I'll try to do a fall look with it the next time I wear it :)

British Anthropologiest-Actually my husband isn't a very good nurse. He tries, which is what counts, but I usually just end up doing everything myself.

Diem-Yea I really wish this skirt didn't have that elastic waistband. I probably could have sized down to an XS, but I think I can make the small work.

Ashley-I LOVE these earrings! I would have picked them out myself had I seen them in the store. They will definitely get a lot of love from me!

  15. Sorry you had a bad week. It sure isn't fun when you're sick and feel like crap! Glad you're better now, I was wondering where you've been. I love these colors together. The outfit really looks cute on you and your hair looks great pulled back.
