1. Graces Tank-$48

For those of you looking to buy something in that true lavender color (me!), I think this is it. You can kind of compare the color to the grey cardigan in the background. This is a size small, which fit me perfectly, so I'd say it's TTS. The tank is very comfortable and lightweight, but the one negative is that it is pretty sheer. I had a black bra on underneath, which didn't help, but I definitely couldn't wear this to work by itself (I might try the moss color to see how sheer it is). However, I do think it would be a great piece to layer under jackets/cardigans. I almost walked out with this one because the price is so nice, but I held back because of the sheerness factor. It's still high up on my wishlist and will probably make it's way into my closet before it hits sale.
2. Brass Band Tank-$48

I really wanted to like this tee when I went into the fitting room, but it just didn't wow me once I had it on. I tried on the small, which fit at the stomach, but was a tad big at the chest. I also don't like how the tank is a mixture of stripes and the solid blue. I liked the look online, but once I had it on something just looked off about it to me (It looked like a swimming suit to me). I did like the button details on the straps and the colors (baby blue and a mossy green), but that's about it. I feel like this is something I could find for $19.99 at places like Target, so I won't be buying it full price and probably won't give it a second chance when it goes on sale.
3. Keeping Tabs Tee-$68

Love this tee! If it had been priced at $48 it definitely would have come home with me. It's a beautiful forest green color with cute little typewriters all over it. It has a pocket on the front and the sleeves are buttoned. It was very soft and comfy on, but another one that was a little on the sheer side. It wasn't as sheer as the Graces Tank though and I think it will be fine with a dark colored bra. My true size small fit perfectly, but this might not be for you if you don't like your tees to be form fitting. I think this would look great paired with a solid colored skirt for work and could then easily be worn with jeans on the weekend. This is another top that's at the top of my wishlist :)
4. Scribbled Bouquet Cardigan-$98

Pros:
-VERY soft
-Lightweight
-Hand wash
-Can be worn open or buttoned
-Unique design/colorful
-Fit was TTS if not a little big (I tried on the medium)
Cons:
-Price
-The design looked a little cheap
-The back of the cardigan (at the bottom) looks different than the front of the cardigan. It bunches together, which wasn't horrible, I just didn't like the look of it.
-The buttons down the front didn't lay right. They looked like they were pulling/gaping (look at the last two buttons), but there was definitely room to spare.
Verdict: Will reconsider when it goes on sale.
Did any of you pick anything up at the sale today? I bought the Buds and Bunches Tee in blue, the Snowmelt Cardigan in purple, another Climbing Cowlneck, and the Daring Dart Blouse (both colors, but one will go back). I kinda like having these little sales every week instead of the bigger sales every two weeks....I hope they keep it up!
Bye for now!

Love the Keeping Tabs Tee on you! I felt the same way about the striped tank. BOORING!:)
ReplyDeleteI bought the Graces Tank in the ivory and yes it is very sheer. However it fits well and price point is great. I didn't buy anything from today's sale, but thinking of picking up another Climbing Cowlneck in the pink color. I already have the Bud and Bunches tee in beige. The blue was nice.
ReplyDeleteOh, I need that Keeping Tabs Tee! I love quirky prints, and the fit is so cute on you. I'll have to try that on this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI also like the Graces Tank. You're right--that looks much more like a true lavender from your photo, not the grayed-down lavender of the Tiny Windows Dress. Guess I'll have to try that one on too!
Thank you for doing a review of the Scribbled Bouquet Cardigan! I've been wanting to try this on but it hasn't appeared in my store yet. It looks really cute! I agree though about waiting for it to go on sale.
ReplyDeleteThat keeping tabs shirt will be mine!!! I love it!!
ReplyDeletethe graces tank is so cute on you!
ReplyDeleteI almost bought another climbing cowlneck and the buds and bunches tee but decided to wait for something that I really want. I have had too much sale-itis lately
Oh, Kathryn's been hankering after the Graces tank! It's so pretty on you!
ReplyDeleteHello!!
ReplyDeleteJust a quick question the 'Graces Tank' looks more light blue, is it definitely light purple in person?
Thank you!
Krameymartin-I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that tank was boring....really disappointing :(
ReplyDeleteBronzi-If the Graces Tank wasn't so sheer, I might be tempted to buy it in more than one color!
Em-I wish the TIny Windows Dress was this color. Then I probably would have gone with that one.
Debbie-It was a cute cardigan, don't get me wrong, just not worth the $98 price tag.
Triciathomas-I hope it is still around in my size when it goes on sale so that I can make it mine too! I love anything with a quirky print!
Spiffy-I've had the sale bug too lately and need to get rid of it! There are just too many things on my wishlist going on sale at the same time...I need a break!
Carol-I hope the tank works out for Kathryn :) I really wanted to take it home with me, but knew I wouldn't be able to wear it to work in the summer. That doesn't mean I can't wear it on the weekends though :)
Sonjana-In person, the tank definitely looked like a light purple :)
Hey Sara, I tried on the scribbled bouquet cardigan today as well and I totally agree with your review. I wasn't blown away by it and it looked way better on the model in the catalog than on me. I do love the grace tank on you though. :)
ReplyDeleteI've already tried on the Keeping Tabs too and Love it! It's on my wishlist too! Looks super on you. Sara - the Climbing Cowlneck just fit so weird on me, draping fabric everywhere! I wonder if I just got a bad shirt to try on? I have it on order coming to me so I hope the one in the mail works. Yours looks so great on you!
ReplyDeleteI didn't pick any sale items up today, but I was thinking that the daring dart blouse might be a good work shirt. Have you tried that yet? I'm concerned about the fit based on the reviews, but the price is right.
ReplyDeleteCindi-Yea I feel like that cardigan had so much potential and it's SO comfortable, but it's nothing to write home about!
ReplyDeletePeggy-You definitely didn't get a bad Climbing Cowlneck...I have problems with that Tee too. I have the pink color in a medium that I got awhile ago and it fits me at the waist, but when I lean forward, it's way too low cut, so I really need to wear a cami with it. I also had the extra fabric in the back, but when I pushed it forward/up, it just made my problems at my chest even worse! I ordered the size small yesterday to see if it will fit any better, but I'm guessing it will be too tight at the waist and I'll end up taking it back. It's too bad because it really is a cute tee :(
Cat-I did do a review of the Daring Dart Blouse, but I reviewed the size 6, which was too big on me. I never got to try on the size 4, but I'm hoping it works (that's what I ordered). It looked great on Krameymartin, who wears the same size as me, so I'm hoping I have the same luck!
The Keeping Tabs is so cute, it's on my sale wishlist too - I'm baffled by the full-price for this one! Sorry your post got lost yesterady - that is so frustrating!
ReplyDeleteI have the grace tank in ivory and lilac, the ivory is much more sheer than the lavender color. If you wear a nude bra with the lavender you'd be completely fine, I didn't find it sheer at all with the nude bra. The ivory even with the nude bra is sheer but I don't know if it would look right with a nude cami so I'm undecided on whether or not I'll keep that one.
ReplyDeleteThe Graces Tank is very pretty. Wishlisted. The Keeping Tabs is a cute shirt. But I'm having a problem with Porridge shirts running too big around my chest/under arms... Country Manor with the airplanes, and Deeply Rooted, you cute tops that can't be mine!
ReplyDeleteI think I spy a Tambour Blouse in the background pic with your Keeping Tabs review. Can't wait to see it on you. Pretty top, pretty high price!
Thanks again for the reviews!
I wanted to get a Daring Darts blouse and a Climbing Cowlneck, but I went over budget on clothing already, so I had to pass.
ReplyDeleteI just fell in love with that typewriter teeshirt though too!
Jan-Yea $68 for that tee is crazy! I'll probably still have a hard time paying $40 for it when it goes on sale, but you know I will :)
ReplyDeleteMrs.LifeAccounts-That makes me feel better about the lilac tank. You shouldn't have said that though because now I want to go get it!
Gemma-You do see a Tambour Blouse back there (I forgot to add it!), but unfortunately, I didn't like it :( I feel like I should run and hide in the corner after saying that because I know so many people are excited about it!
Ady- Maybe they will both still be available in July? I know people have had fit issues with both, so I think there's a a good chance they will be :) But by then, there will probably be plenty of new goodies that you'll want!
