Blouse: Anthropologie Red Delicious Blouse
Skirt: Anthropologie Scalloped Clouds Skirt
Shoes: Anthropologie Budding T-Straps
I also stopped by Anthropologie today to try on more new arrivals (I've got some good ones!) and of course, I couldn't leave without buying one more thing! I really need to quit doing that! I was doing so well, but all of these new pretties are making me weak! Surely I can stop myself from buying anything else until May...right??
I'll be back tomorrow with my OOTD and with reviews of what I tried on today (a hint: a few of these might make you hungry!). Bye for now!

Okay between you and Roxy, I need to try on that blouse! Too cute! I actually had it in my hands on Saturday and then forgot about it when I was in the fitting room. What was I thinking?
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of this shirt and skirt, Sara! So adorable and a little unexpected. Now, if only I can finally get my hands on this skirt! :)
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is just too cute! I am dying for mine to get here, but it's still en route!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you today - the sales associate at BR had on the Blooming Lattice cardi in green, and I couldn't resist complimenting how cute it was and how I wanted to pick it up in the navy, myself. She was so excited to meet another Anthro shopper and we stood there for like 10 minutes chatting it up about our shopping addictions - lol. So yes, I guess I do strike up conversations with strangers when I see them in cute pieces (which is VERY rare in these parts, btw)
I think I said this before, but this looks great on you! I know how you feel when you want to wait for a sale, but are afraid of it may sell out. Lately, I've been pulling the trigger on my sizes in dresses and I really have no where to wear them. But I guess I'm so addicted and I just feel good that they are in my closet. I seriously need therapy!!! Seriously! I am going to do some returns though. Although that is still not an excuse for my addiction.
ReplyDeleteKathleen-You definitely need to try this blouse on! It's a must have! I've completely forgotten to try things on in the fitting room too! I usually realize it right when I leave the fitting room and by then, I'm too exhausted to try anything else on!
ReplyDeleteAlicia-I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find that skirt!
Jan-I hope you get that cardigan soon because it would be so cute on you! I did the same thing today in Anthropologie...the SA had on the cutest skirt on from Anthro (07), so we stood in the fitting room and talked about it for a good 5 minutes. I'm more comfortable chatting Anthro clothes with an SA just because I know many of them love the clothes just as much as I do!
Did you try on the Chocolate Chip dress????:)
ReplyDeleteChrissy-Maybe :)
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed! Can't wait for the review!:)
ReplyDeleteGemma-Do tell what dresses you've gotten! I have the same addiction! I will be doing so well and then I buy 1-2 things, then another, and another and it just gets out of control! Then I end up returning things like you said. And the funny thing is, I usually only wear things 1-2 times before they go on sale, so I need to just wait!
ReplyDeleteSara--love your blog. I'm fairly new to Anthro too, and have a serious addiction going. It used to be J Crew and Anthro, but I've just had it getting stuck with final sale items that are miss-marked or size-defective. (A medium t-shirt with a 44 in bust? Seriously?) And their CS is AWFUL compared to Anthro.
ReplyDeleteSara & Gemma--I, too, have the dress thing going on in my closet. (Just snagged the County Fair Dress for $50 thanks to Roxy's blog) No idea where I'll wear this! And also have the State Fair Dress that I haven't worn yet. There are probably a few others. Love both dresses, but really hate fairs, btw!
Also just received the Hollyhock Dress in sz 10 that was a pop-back for $40, but it doesn't fit so that's going back. No idea where I would've worn that one either.
A J Crew SA did pass along a sage piece of advice tho, when I mentioned that I liked a dress but had nowhere to wear it. She said the thing about a dress is that it's a whole outfit. I love that! (My husband did not appreciate the wisdom, however...)
JennaLynn -- the Hollyhock dress just got marked down on Wednesday for $20.
ReplyDeleteSara, your coloring is very similar to mine, I think--pale brunette. I really cannot wear grey, and it seems like Anthro does so much grey. Pastels are tricky for me too, so it seems like many pieces are just out of the question for me.
ReplyDeleteI got a T-shirt survey a while back, (included the Yardarm Tee, the Cirrus Streaks Tank, and the High-Tide Tee) and all 6 of them were shown in grey or white.
I just wondered if you have similar issues. I love the Sun Grown Tank, for instance, (VERY flattering) but can't pull off any of those colors.
Diem, thanks, but it still doesn't fit ;-) (It's big all over, and even at $20, it would need major tailoring.) Probably an 8 would have been perfect. Just thought for $40 it was worth a shot.
ReplyDeleteAw, cute blouse! And it's perfectly paired with the Scalloped Clouds skirt. I wish I tried that shirt on the other day in the store...I'm a teacher, so I think the apples would be a fitting motif for me :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, sorry I'm late on this - I didn't get to comment yesterday, but you look FABULOUS Sara! I'm loving that blouse on you and I'm seriously considering picking one up for myself!
ReplyDeleteI'm eagerly waiting to see if you got to try the Chocolate Chip Dress..!
Sara,
ReplyDeleteOkay, it started a few months ago...I bought the Speckled Ink Dress and New York, New York Dress...afraid of missing out. Then Daffodil Wish (?) dress and County Fair dress...on sale, of course. Next Sunrise and Midnight dress...for my high school reunion. Last, the Impressionist's Dream dress...again afraid of missing out on size this time...petite. I sent a picture to Kim's Reader's Outfit post this past Wednesday. Now, I'm eyeing the Sweet Shoppe dress...should I pull the trigger? I may miss out on the petite size again!
Do I have somewhere I'm going, other than my high school reunion? No, but maybe I can change outfits a few times like I'm the host on the Oscars or something.
HELP NEEDED here! I will return the County Fair and something else. Maybe the New York, New York since the neckline is a bit low on me.
UGH!
JennaLynn-The comment about dresses being a whole outfit is so true! You just have to choose 1 thing to wear instead of 2. So much easier! I do have problems wearing many of those colors you mentioned. I tend to stay away from white, black, charcoal gray (I'm trying to work with light gray), yellow, and light pink. I do find that a lot of the cute tanks/tees only come in white/ivory/gray, but I've gotten good at just passing them right by online and not trying them on in store. Then I don't know what I'm missing!
ReplyDeleteEm-The Red Delicious Blouse would be perfect for you to wear to school!
Kathryn-You should definitely pick the blouse up for yourself. I think it looks great on everyone I've seen it on!
Gemma-Well I would definitely keep the Speckled Ink Dress (I haven't seen this one in store in a long time) and the Impressionist's Dream Dress (It looked so cute on you!).
ReplyDeleteIf it were me, I would return the Daffodil Wish Dress and the County Fair Dress. They just didn't do anything for me. Maybe you could keep one of those though since they were sale dresses and then return a full price dress?
I do think the Sweet Shoppe Dress will be a popular one (assuming there are no weird fit issues), so you may want to snag that one.
My rule for myself is that if I buy a dress, I have to be able to wear it to a nice dinner and I have to be able to wear it to work. If it's too short/too revealing in the chest area, then it's out because I can't wear it to work. So I'd say if you won't reach for it on a regular basis, then don't get it. Maybe you can have a few dresses for special occasions only, but I wouldn't stock up on dresses that you think you'll only wear 1-2 times. You should definitely share a picture of yourself in the Sweet Shoppe Dress if you end up buying it!
Geez, I went into my closet and saw 3 other dresses I forgot to mention. But definitely returning County Fair, and probably the 2 that need some alterations because knowing me I'll never get around to altering them! Plus, I found some other tops that have been sitting around and I found the packing slip since I bought them online that I will be returning as well. Hope the stores will not be mad that I have a bit to return. They always scare me. Luckily, there are 2 in Charlotte and I can spread them out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice! It was much needed!
Have a great weekend!
Gemma-I hate returning things too! I don't know why because it's not like I'm doing anything wrong, but I always feel like the SA's are giving me the staredown/questioning me. I have several Anthro stores around me so I try and spread them out too!
ReplyDeleteSara - I bought this blouse today - did you find you have to wear a cami under it b/c it is too low? I LOVE it - it looks fab on you in the pic!
ReplyDeletePeggy-I didn't wear a cami under mine, but I was a little concerned about it being too sheer on top.
ReplyDeleteSigh, SO CUTE Sara. Perfect pairing!!!
ReplyDelete(And ack, I have to try to spread out my returns too! I get the staredown from my SAs otherwise, no matter what my percentage of returns to overall buying is.)
